Offering Amazing Wildlife Kayak Adventures
Venture Quest Kayaking of Santa Cruz offers a unique opportunity to explore the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary from a kayak! Rent a kayak or join us on a guided tour and enter the realm of sea otters, seals, sea lions, pelicans, dolphins, whales and a variety of other bird and marine wildlife. Kayaking is an exciting sport that can be both relaxing and invigorating. It is the perfect way to peacefully interact with the wildlife inhabitants of The Monterey Bay. No experience necessary!
Humpback Whales at Moss Landing and Sea Otters of Elkhorn Slough
On calm mornings we paddle out of Moss Landing Harbor in search of Bottle Nosed Dolphins and Humpback Whales. When the afternoon winds pick up, we seek the calm waters of Elkhorn slough for more wildlife viewing.
It is a short paddle from our private dock on the Santa Cruz Wharf to the kelp forest near Lighthouse point where you’ll visit sea otters and harbor seals. Then look for sea lions on Seal Rock and watch for whales and dolphins as they swim past the point. Single and double kayaks and all the gear you’ll need are available.
Venture Quest owner, Dave Johnston, and his staff offer their years of experience to ensure you have a safe and memorable time exploring the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. They share their love of kayaking, wildlife, and the ocean whether you take a guided tour or rent a kayak on your own.
